Product Placement Can Make A Difference
by Tom Egelhoff
Every retailer, from time to time, has out of stock inventory they would like to move . The most common method of doing this is a special sale section. Customers come running in tripping over each other to get a good deal. While doing this they fly right by the profitable merchandise.
Instead of the previous method, mix the old with the new and have section sales instead. This way the customer has to look through all the merchandise to find the sale items and may pick up more than they "bargained" for.
