With Non-Competing Businesses

One of the most effective forms of small town advertising is direct mail. (See: Direct Mail: Why It Works And How To Use It) You can increase the size of your list by contacting non-competing businesses that mail to the same target market. For examle, carpet stores and paint contractors may have similar lists.

There may be some overlap of names but in the long run you'll have a larger list and more potential customers.
